Record low temperatures this week made for hazardous conditions, but Mower County residents can expect a warmer weekend.
According to National Weather Service meteorologist Logan Lee, temperatures will rise above zero on Friday and increase into the 30s by Saturday and possibly the 40s by Sunday.
A chance of precipitation beginning Saturday afternoon could produce a wintry mix, which in turn could cause some slick areas on roads. The precipitation is expected to continue into Sunday, with rain forecasted on Sunday night.
Lee said that precipitation and melting snow could cause rising levels in local rivers and streams, but there is no concern at the moment of any negative impacts.
