One of the Bruins newest players is already being honored.
Jared Christy, 20, has been named the NAHL’s Central Division Star of the Week for his performance against the Minnesota Magicians this past weekend.
On Friday, his first game with his new club, Christy racked up four assists in the Bruins win 6-5 win over the Magicians in Richfield. He followed that game up with an encore performance on Saturday, netting two goals on the ninth annual Paint the Rink Pink Night. Christy’s second goal of the night was easily the biggest of his young Bruins career as he managed to tie the game at four goals apiece, ultimately allowing the Bruins to force overtime and win on a Dante Sheriff breakaway.
Traded to the Bruins on Jan. 30 from the Odessa Jackalopes along with Kyle Herbster, Christy came to Austin after leading his former team in scoring with 37 points. Now with the Bruins, the Cypress, California, native has 43 points on the season after his six-point weekend and ranks second on the team in scoring.
