Austin’s Sheldon advances to state gymnastics meet

The Austin gymnastics team missed out on state with a second place finish, but Austin senior Sam Sheldon qualified for state in two events at the Section 1A meet in Red Wing Saturday.
Sheldon advanced to the state meet in vault and bars.
Austin finished with a team score of 136.600 and PIZM won the meet with a score of 143.600.
The Packers, who had the highest GPA of the section, were competing without Maria Morey, who was injured at the Big Nine meet.
