Jeanette Auer, 89

Jeanette Auer, 89, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus-Rochester.
Jeanette was born on Feb. 17, 1929, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, to Leonard and Inez (Horning) Wold. She attended Austin High School. Jeanette married Duane Klingerman on Feb. 22, 1948. The couple later divorced. On Jan. 9, 1965, she married Dennis Michael “Mike” Auer in Leroy, Minnesota. Jeanette worked as a clerk of court at the Mower County Courthouse.
Jeanette and Mike enjoyed many years together with family and friends, including time at their cabin in Faribault, Minnesota, and winters in Rockport, Texas. She enjoyed spending time with family, watching birds on their feeders and creating colorful artwork. Jeanette was always kind to all and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She was and will continue to be our “Number One.”
Those left to cherish Jeanette’s memory are her husband, Mike, Austin; children, Sandy (Fran) Skinness of Austin, Greg (Anne) Klingerman of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, Lori (Steve) Scott of Austin, and Cara (Mark) Downing of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Julie Skinness (Brian Bronner), Brad (Amy) Skinness, Chad (Molly) Klingerman, Stacy (Eric) Holm, Janet (Dennis) Williams, Kristie (Steve) Dennison, Tara Scott (Terrance Plath), Maddy Downing and Olivia Downing; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Kaeden, Jacob, Jack, Madison, Mathew, Hannah, Logan, Daniel, Brooklyn and Nate; great-great-grandchild, Tyler; sister, Darlene Thomas, Austin; and nephews, Craig Clingman and Steven (Susan) Clingman. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Wold; mother, Inez Ness; step-father, James Ness; and brothers-in law, Gerald Clingman and Ronald Thomas.
A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019, in the Ruby Rupner Auditorium at the Jay C Hormel Nature Center, 1304 21st St. NE in Austin, with a luncheon to follow. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
