The City of Austin is accepting applications for a part-time Community Service Officer within our Police Department.

Position will typically be 20 hrs/wk. working afternoon to late evening and rotating day schedule. Potential for additional hours for vacation coverage.

This is a non-sworn position which performs a variety of duties including providing a uniformed presence while patrolling the community, enforcing animal control regulations and assisting sworn officers as requested.

Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or GED equivalent, ability to successfully complete a background investigation, medical exam and drug screen. Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Minnesota driver’s license. Desired qualifications include ability to work with animals, fluent in a foreign language and previous medical training (CPR, First Aid).

Starting hourly wage is $19.69/hr.
