The Mower County DFL and ISAIAH, a faith-based group acting in community with congregations, clergy, and all people of faith, recently partnered with Christ Episcopal Church in Austin and presented “Minnesota is Ready” meeting on Sunday, April 28.

We thank Christ Episcopal Church for providing a wonderful venue, refreshments and helpful volunteers, including John Sullivan and Sue Grove. We had nice listening sessions, to which we invited our local state legislators. While our legislators were busy and may not have had time to attend or had conflicts, Jeanne Poppe was able to come listen and share her thoughts and information with us. We really appreciated the opportunity to talk with her personally.

We discussed and shared personal stories concerning childcare, MNCare, medical family leave and increasing our use of renewable energy.

We also would like to thank community members who took the time out from their busy lives to attend this meeting and contribute to a community discussion of issues important to everyone.
