Court documents state a man complained to Austin police that a 22-year-old man, later identified as Morales, had solicited his 14-year-old daughter for sex. He had viewed a conversation on her Facebook account between her and a man identifying himself as “Perico Mor Less” in which Morales said he would buy her a vaping device in exchange for sex. Despite the victim informing him of her age, he still solicited her for sex.

The detective viewed other messages, sent over the course of three days, in which Morales invited the victim to engage in sex or a sexual activity. In one message, he invited the victim to come to his residence in the 700 block of Fourth Avenue Southwest.

The victim frequently reminded Morales of her age throughout the messages.

Morales was arrested on Feb. 27, 2018, and his cell phone was seized. He claimed someone had “hacked” his Facebook account and that he did not know the victim, but a review of Morales Facebook account showed that he and the victim were “friends.”

A review of Morales’ criminal history shows prior convictions for theft and drug possession.

As part of his probation, Morales must perform 40 hours of community service and follow 22 conditions, including registering as a predatory offender. He must also pay $585 in fines.
