Beverly A. Willert, 79, of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019, at her home in Blooming Prairie.
Beverly Ann Wood was born on Jan. 9, 1940, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to George and Gladys (Madson) Wood. She graduated from Hayfield High School in 1957. On April 24, 1965, Beverly married Glenn Willert at the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Together they raised two children, Daniel and Kari. On Jan. 25, 1986, she started working at Hormel Foods and retired on March 16, 2011, after 25 years of service. Beverly was very active at her church, especially with Via de Cristo. She was also involved with the AA for many years and the senior center. The time she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren, morning coffee with friends, and on Saturday’s having coffee with her sister. Beverly also loved flowers, walking and biking. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her son, Daniel Glenn (Maggie) Willert of Geneva, Minnesota; daughter, Kari A. Lynn of Faribault, Minnesota; nine grandchildren, Krystal, Jessica, Danny, Elizabeth, Cody, Ry, Ryan, Henry and Finn; two great-grandchildren, Salem and Killian; and sister, Marlys (Dale) Schmeling of Hayfield, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Gladys Wood; and husband, Glenn Willert.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with the Rev. Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home in Blooming Prairie and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in Blooming Prairie. Memorials can be directed to the First Lutheran Church.
