The No. 4 Blooming Prairie baseball team beat No. 3 Faribault Bethlehem Academy (3-12 overall) in a Section 1A West elimination game in BP Wednesday.

FBA jumped out to 3-0 lead in the first inning, but BP (8-12 overall) grabbed a 10-5 lead in the second inning when Trent Swenson drilled a grand slam.

“Today really showed the resilience of our kids,” BP head coach Matt Kittleson said. “I’m very proud of how they responded today.”

BP will take on top-seeded Hayfield in Riverland at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The Vikings and Awesome Blossoms split the regular season series.
