The Blooming Prairie boys golf team had a strong first day at the Section 1A golf meet in Willow Creek Golf Club in Rochester Tuesday as the Awesome Blossoms sit in second place out of nine teams entering the final round on Thursday.

BP finished with a first day score of 358 and Faribault Bethlehem Academy is in first with a 350.

The BP boys were led by Colin Jordison, who is in fifth place overall with a score of 81.

Southland sophomore Max Schmitz had the top first day score with a 73, LOGM’s Grant Vikre was third with a 78 and Hayfield’s Keegan Bronson was sixth with an 82.

The first place team and the top five individuals will advance to the Minnesota Class A State Golf Meet.
