David E. Thomson, 45

David Eugene Thomson, 45, of Austin, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at his home.

He was born Oct. 7, 1957, to Carlton and Muriel (Glenna) Thomson in Austin, where he attended school.

On April 11, 1987, he married Alice Lamb at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Brownsdale. They were later divorced.

Employers included Farmstead Foods and Streaters in Albert Lea and Austin Daily Herald.

A former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dave enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool and carpentry.

Survivors include his son, Anthony Thomson, Brownsdale; parents, Carlton and Muriel Thomson, Austin; brothers, James (Patricia) Thomson, Glendale, Wis.; Robert (Kathy) Thomson, North Richland Hills, Texas; John (Sarah) Thomson, Burnsville; sister, Barbara (Todd) Anderson, Austin; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; former wife, Alice Cross, Brownsdale.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one sister, Patricia Thomson.

Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, and one hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Seifert officiating.

Interment: Grandview Cemetery.

Raymond W. Stahr, 78

Raymond "Cotton" W. Stahr, 78, of LeRoy, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at the Spring Valley Care Center, Spring Valley.

He was born Nov. 18, 1924, to Freeman and Laura (Kroeger) Stahr.

After his schooling, he worked at Rath's Packing Plant and John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa. He moved to LeRoy in the mid 1950's where he farmed in partnership with Sam Montgomery until his retirement. Raymond lived at the Spring Valley Care Center for a short time.

He enjoyed family, going to his cabin in Northern Minnesota and his Fourth of July picnics in LeRoy.

Survivors include sisters, LaVonne Draper, Lanesboro; Lourna Wedemeir, Hudson, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation: 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2003, at the church.

Service: 11 a.m. Friday at the LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Tom Kolden officiating.

Interment: 3:15 p.m. Friday at the Dysert Cemetery, Dysert, Iowa.

Norma O. Jorgenson, 73

Norma O. Jorgenson, age 73, of Austin, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at St. Marks Lutheran Home.

She was born March 30, 1930, in Scarville, Iowa, to Edward and Minnie (Olson) Stalheim. She attended school in Scarville and graduated from Lake Mills High School.

Norma was married to LuVerne E. Jorgenson on Sept. 10, 1947, in Albert Lea, Minn. They resided in Austin where Norma worked for 29 years as a nursing assistant at St. Marks Lutheran Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Frances, Esther, Agnes and Hazel; and brother: Arnie.

Private family services will be held with interment at Grandview Cemetery with Cathy Mannel officiating

She is survived by her husband: LuVeme E. Jorgenson of Austin, Minn.; daughter and son-in-law: Fran and Duane Charnecki of Austin, Minn., and granddaughter: Sarah Friedrich of North Branch, Minn.; son and daughter-in-law: Dr. Michael and Cynthia Jorgenson of Bloomington, Minn., and granddaughters: Jodi Jorgenson of Minneapolis, Minn. and Kellie Jorgenson of Bloomington, Minn., and great-grandson: Ethan Jorgenson; son: Jerry Jorgenson of Minneapolis, Minn.; brother: Kenneth Stalheim of Nora Springs, Iowa; nieces and nephews.
