Five Austin High School swimmers and divers were named to the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association 2002-2003 All-American list.

Senior diver Beau Webber capped his fourth straight trip to the state meet with a diving championship, and his season-best point total resulted in being ranked 34th in the nation among public boys' high school divers.

There were a total of eight divers from Minnesota ranked in the top 100 in nation.

A quartet of Austin High girls' swimmers collaborated for the other All-American honor. The 200-yard freestyle relay foursome of Stacy Bjorlie, Lindsay Lukes, Amanda Martin and Lauren Goettsch ranked 94th in the nation with their school-record time of 1:39.74.

That time came at the Class A state meet finals, in which Austin lost out by 21-hundreths of a second to Red Wing. The teams were two of the six from Minnesota that ranked in the top 200 in the nation.

Lukes, Bjorlie and Goettsch will all return to the Austin High swimming squad when prep action resumes this fall.
