Packers power their way past Schaeffer Academy

The Austin girls soccer team took control in the first half as it beat Schaeffer Academy 4-0 in its home opener in Art Hass Stadium Friday.

Hope Dudycha and Claire Raymond each scored in the first half for the Packers (1-1 overall) to give Austin a 2-0 lead at the break. Madison Herrick and Grace Mayer each scored in the second half for Austin.

“The finishing aspect of tonight was spot on,” Austin head coach Jake Levisen said. “We had everyone crashing and producing the pass or rebound. They moved the ball well down the field and they found the passes and space.”

Robin Weaver had four saves for Austin and Dudycha, Eliana Bentley and Morgan Raymond each had an assist for Austin.
