The safety improvements of the Highway 218 intersection in Lyle are finished, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Construction crews added a northbound right turn lane and southbound bypass lane at the Highway 218 and Pershing Avenue intersection in Lyle.

Meanwhile, the paving and culvert replacement project of Highway 16, between Spring Valley and Dexter has been completed as well.

The repaving project was approximately 15 miles of Highway 16 from Spring Valley to Grand Meadow to Dexter. This will extend the road’s life span and provide a smoother ride.

The work also included significant culvert replacements along the corridor (three box culverts and five pipe culverts), which required detours during the project this past summer.
