A fundraising event to help raise money for the Southland School District’s school renovations is being held Saturday in Adams.

OctoberFest will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cedar River Golf Course. Money raised will go toward the auditorium. Last fall, the Southland School District passed a referendum to consolidate and renovate the school into one building, however auditorium was omitted.

In response, United Farmers State Bank donated 100,000 towards this space and pledged 150,000 in matching funds.

Saturday’s events will be packed with entertainment in the form of a variety show and food, with a portion of proceeds going to funds and fundraising opportunities. There will also be a 5K Fun Run. Runners are invited to wear costumes.

Down the Road

On Nov. 7 an exclusive one night dining and theatre sneak peek of the “Sound of Music,” will be held on Nov. 7. On Nov. 8 the premiere, featuring a musical happy hour with appetizers and drinks will be held. Tickets are available for purchase by emailing losmusicalreservations@gmail.com.
