Alumni update: Both Gach has a breakout start to second season with Utes

Austin native Both Gach had a breakout performance to start his sophomore season with the Utah Utes in a 79-74 in Nevada Tuesday.

Gach poured in 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting for the Utes and he also grabbed two rebounds and dished out two assists.

Utah’s win snapped Nevada’s 18-game home winning streak.

A pair of Austin grads were in action when North Dakota State College of Science beat Lake Region State College 85-70 in an NJCAA Division I game recently.

Austin grad Moses (formerly Issa) Suleiman grabbed four rebounds for the Wildcats and Medi Obang had three points, one rebound, one assist and one block off the bench for the Royals.

Austin grad Ngor Deng had four rebounds and an assist for Bismarck State in an 81-74 loss to United Tribes Tech on Nov. 4.

Hayfield Drew Olive grabbed one rebound for Saint Mary’s University in an 84-67 loss to Winona State University on Nov. 2.

LeRoy-Ostrander grad Haley Hungerholt had six points, three assists and two rebounds for Waldorf University in an 80-64 win over Nebraska Christian College recently.
