Holidays are more than shopping

Thanksgiving is just a day away and families will be coming together to give thanks for everything from spending time as a family and celebrating what they have.
There will also be shopping.
Many are getting excited to get their holiday shopping done, taking advantage of Black Friday sales and deals spread out through Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.
We wish you all sorts of luck in your endeavors, but we also want to take the time to remind everybody to show humility and kindness when out with your fellow shoppers.
Far too often the day following Black Friday are filled with videos of people stampeding through doors, unaware or not caring about what happens to the people around them.
This is where people get hurt and sometimes, yes, even die.
We realize that Thanksgiving now includes the tradition of shopping with family, but it needs to be a time of restraint. We still hold doors open for people and we certainly don’t get into fights over that much desired object.
That’s not who we are.
So this holiday season, we ask that you take the effort to simply be kind to one another. A TV is just a thing, a toy is just a thing. We, however; are a memory to remember fondly with family and friends.
