Hormel Historic Home presents ‘A Dickens of a Christmas’

The Hormel Historic Home will host “A Dickens of a Christmas,” presented by Randal J. Forster, Executive Director of the Mower County Historical Society, during it’s History Happy Hour event at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9. Come and experience the classic story of “A Christmas Carol” and learn some history about Charles Dickens and Ebeneezer Scrooge.

A special “reader’s theatre” style presentation of the classic Christmas story will be the main event of the evening. Cast members include Penny Kinney, Janet Anderson, Jon Cochran, Eric Sippel, Emily Bartley Miller, Lydia Wik, Jadon Fimon, Holly Johnson, Sue Grove, Jackson Slack and Randal J. Forster.

This is a free event for members of the Hormel Historic Home, Austin MN Friends of the Library, and the Mower County Historical Society. There is a $5 cover charge for non-members.

Everyone is welcome to attend and experience this timeless tale of repentance and hope.

History Happy is a monthly history series where you can experience history and enjoy a cocktail and appetizers with other folks interested in history. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for social hour with the presentation starting promptly at 6 p.m. Coffee, water and appetizers are provided and a cash bar is available.
