Letter: Poppe not standing up for rural Minnesotans

Recently Rep. Jeanne Poppe (DFL) sent a mailer outlining the accomplishments and “successes” of the 2019 Legislative session. This mailer does not tell the whole story as Poppe supported radical, metro-Democratic policies. To name a few, she supported a 20-cent gas tax that would cripple families, Minnesota business and farmers, the expensive MN Green New Deal, red-flag laws to restrict gun ownership, and unrestricted access to abortions. It is clear that continuing to re-elect Poppe only ensures more extreme legislation forced upon us from St. Paul because Poppe has not stood up for rural Minnesota, but instead voted with the metro-Democrats.
Poppe cannot simply ignore the radical stances that she has taken on many issues that affect rural Minnesota. So, as 27B constituents, we must ask if her work in 2019 was actually a success for US. I believe these radical policies do not represent 27B, which is why I am voting for Patty Mueller in the 2020 election.
