The Hayfield boys basketball team couldn’t hold off a hot shooting Waterville-Elysian-Morristown team as the Vikings lost 63-47 in Hayfield Thursday.

Grant McBroom had 41 points as he hit seven threes for WEM (17-1 overall, 9-0 Gopher).

“He was definitely the difference in the game,” Hayfield head coach Chris Pack said. “He caught fire, hitting six threes in the second half.”

Ethan Slaathaug had 19 points for Hayfield (13-4 overall, 7-3 Gopher).
