It's rare in any profession these days to stay with the same employer for 20 years.

But Father Paul Nelson has called the Austin Catholic scene his home for about that time and will be retiring come Tuesday.

We tip our hat to Father Nelson and the many lives he's impacted.

Like jobs in law enforcement and in teaching, people don't join the priesthood for the money. Rather, they do it to make an impact in the lives of others and to follow a calling in the communities in which they reside.

With that, we thank Father Nelson for all that he's done in and around the Austin area.
