LETTER: APL a crucial community resource
Published 7:01 am Saturday, February 22, 2020
The Austin Public Library is an important community resource in so many ways beyond books and other traditional library services. It is a welcoming destination and gathering space for all age groups. Be sure to like their Facebook page and Instagram account for a wonderful variety of opportunities from the Cookbook Club, Family Craft Nights, morning and evening Thursday Story Times, Tweens Advisory Board, Brown Bag Book Club, Free Mini Concerts and lots more, all happening at your Austin Public Library! The staff looks forward to continuing the popular “One Austin, Many Stories” initiative, so watch for details on the library website, Facebook page and online newsletter.
Planning is in progress now for Project 25 And Beyond. It is an innovative process clearly focused on celebrating the 25th anniversary of the current library building along with strategic planning on how best to serve the forward momentum for the next 25 years. It will include a variety of fascinating programming, plus fundraising events and activities for facility upgrades.
Mark your calendars now for a kickoff event tentatively set for 6:30 p.m. on March 20 at the library. If you are interested in a presentation for your club or group, contact the library staff for more information.
And one more helpful customer service addition: the library now has a drive-up book drop off for your convenience.
