Confirmed Mower County COVID-19 rises to 72

The Minnesota Department of Health confirmed that as of Tuesday morning, 72 positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Mower County since March 19.
According to Mower County Health and Human Services Division Manager Pam Kellogg, the eight newest cases are individuals ranging in age from 18 months to late 80s.
Three Mower County residents are currently hospitalized with the disease. Kellogg did not have an updated number on how many cases no longer require isolation.
Statewide, the MDH reported 665 new cases Tuesday morning, bringing the state total to 17,029 confirmed cases since March 6. Of those, 11,540 no longer require isolation.
As of Tuesday, 545 Minnesotans were hospitalized with COVID-19, including 229 in intensive care.
So far, 161,835 tests have been conducted in Minnesota.
The MDH also reported 17 deaths Tuesday, bringing the statewide COVID-19 death total to 748 since March 21. Of those, 608 were among residents at long-term care or assisted living facilities and 618 were among people aged 70 years and older.
