Diane M. White, age 76 of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, May 14, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Methodist Campus, surrounded by her loving family. Diane Marie Krofta was born on March 7, 1944 in Austin, Minnesota, to Anton and Catherine (Dankert) Krofta.
She grew up in Austin and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1962. In January of 1967, she was united in marriage to Vernon Anfinson at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin. To this union two children were born, Sherri and Sandi. The couple moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota, where she worked at Wilson Meat Packing. Diane also waitressed at the truck stop in both Austin and Albert Lea. Diane and Vernon later divorced. On July 17, 2001, she married Eugene T. White in Austin. In their retirement Diane and Eugene went on several trips. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family and friends. Diane will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherri Longe of Freeborn, Minnesota, and Sandi Batten of Albert Lea, Minnesota; step-son, Chris of Austin; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Fred (Patti) Krofta of Austin, Minnesota; sisters, Margaret (Bennie) Mueske of Mission, Texas, Rita Southwick of Rochester, MN, Rose Morales of Austin, Minnesota; sister in law, Joann Shuck of Austin; brother in law, Ronnie (Randi) White of Waseca, Minnesota; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Catherine Krofta; husband, Eugene in 2018; sister, Mary.
Due to COVID-19, a private family memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
