Heather Hill loves being the 2003 Dairy Princess. She said it is a lot of fun.

"It's good experience. I appeared at Rose Creek for Ag days. I served ice cream cones to school kids from Rose Creek and LeRoy. I will be appearing at Younkers for Senior Citizen days this month. I will be at the Mower County Fair this summer serving up malts," Heather said.

Heather's dad, Duane milks Holsteins on his father, Johnny Hill's, farm. Heather helped out with farming when she was young but now she works at Corky's Restaurant in Adams. She is looking forward to her reign as Dairy Princess and all the events she will be attending representing the Dairy Industry. She will be attending Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, this fall.

Curt Heimer, the manager of Wagner's Grocery Store in Adams is on the Dairy Days committee. He is the contact person in town for anyone wanting specific information on this event. Heimer has lived in Adams all his life. His father, Sheldon milked dairy cows when he was young.

"This year Adam's Dairy Days falls on Father's Day weekend. We are doing something special for the dads at the street dance that will be held on Saturday, June 14. The dads can get a free beer if they show a picture of their kid," Heimer said.

Dairy Days begins on Friday night at dusk with an outdoor movie, "Monsters, Inc.," which will be shown at Denny's Car Wash. All the vendors for Dairy Days are from Adams. The people on the Dairy Days committee besides Heimer, are Connie Hoff who is in charge of the annual raffling, and Maureen Noterman and Jerry Von Ospree. Ospree is part of the original group that has worked on Dairy Days for years. The only money that is raised by the committee comes from the Saturday night dance. This year the band is Incognito. They are a 12 piece band that plays a variety of popular music.
