Ralph E. Wilson, 79 of Austin, died at Fieldcrest Care Center in Hayfield Wednesday, June 15, 2011.

He was born Aug. 15, 1931, to George and Mabel (Hanson) Wilson in Austin, Minn., where he grew up and attended public schools. He joined the Air Force on Oct.18, 1951, and served in England for three years. Ralph was honorably discharged on Oct. 17, 1955, as an Airman Second Class. He was employed by Lang Construction and Heimsness Brothers Masonry. A lifelong Austin resident, he was a history buff and enjoyed watching sports and old movies.
Survivors include his sister, Delores Heimsness of Austin; brother, Fred (June) Wilson of Woodbury; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Grandview Cemetery in Austin with military rites by American Legion Post 91 and VFW Post 1216. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
