The Austin Packer boys hockey team won in overtime for the second straight outing to start the season as they killed off a five-minute power play in the extra session before Gavin Schaefer scored the game-winning goal that gave Austin a 6-5 victory over Faribault in Riverside Arena Thursday.
Austin’s Cody Pederson tied the game up at 5-5 with a power play goal in the third period.
Isaac Anderson scored his first two varsity goals in the win for Austin (2-0 overall) and Kyler Flanders and Grady Carney each scored one time.
