Bruins’ Zarsky commits to Brown University

Austin Bruins defesemen Tristan Zarsky has announced his commitment to continue his education and play NCAA Division I hockey at Brown University.

Zarsky becomes the third Bruin this season to make his college commitment.

“I’m ecstatic about getting the opportunity to further my education and play Division 1 hockey at Brown University” stated Zarsky. “It’s a dream come true to pursue my academic ambitions at such a prestigious institution while also being able to further my career and fuel my passion for hockey. I want to thank my parents, family, coaches, mentors, friends, billets, and everyone who helped make this a reality for me.”

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Tristan Zarsky was acquired via a trade with the Shreveport Mudbugs in October. Since then, Zarsky has appeared in 13 games for the Bruins and has four assists. During his time with the Mudbugs, Zarsky played in 59 career regular-season games for Shreveport and appeared in 8 Robertson Cup Playoff games. Before joining the Mudbugs, Zarsky played in the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League) as a member of the Blackfalds Bulldogs.

Brown University is a private Ivy League research university in Providence, Rhode Island. Brown is the seventh-oldest institution of higher education in the United States as it was founded in 1764 as the College in the English Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The Bears are members of ECAC Hockey and play at Meehan Auditorium
