The Austin Packer Dance Team took first place in high kick in the Lakeville South Invite on Saturday.

The meet featured multiple teams that placed in last year’s Class AA state finals, with the Packers coming out on top.

APDT captain Rachel Danielson said that the team’s hard work is beginning to show in their performances.

“You could tell we have been working really hard to make our dance even better,” Danielson said. “It was so rewarding to hear our name called for first because the teams we danced against are all so good. This past competition showed us how we stand compared to other teams and how we need to focus in order to grow even more.”
