The duplicated bridge club meets each and every Tuesday and Wednesday at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin, starting at 11:30 a.m. sharp.
Players come from area cities including Mason City and Northwood, Iowa, Albert Lea, Rose Creek, and Austin.
Nine teams played each day this week as we inch into Christmas celebrations. This group will enjoy a Christmas dinner together next week at the center before we begin our games.
This week’s Tuesday winners were:
• First place, Vandy Newman and Ron Peters
• Second place, Barb Rofshus and John Leisen
• Third place, Edna Knobbe and Gail Schmidt
• Fourth place, Barb and Orrin Roisen
•Fifth place, Joyce Crowe and John Buley
Wednesday winners from Mason City were:
• First place, Tom Flaherty and Stan Schultz
• Second place, Gail Schmidt and Dave Ring
• Third place, Barb Rofshus and Paul Hanson
•Fourth place, Rick Stroup and John Leisen
A reminder is in order in regard to weather. Anytime schools are closed, so also is the Senior Center.
We invite all bridge players to join us either day.We are happy to see a few new faces at our games.
The ABCL was formed in 1937, and it is still growing. In 1964, they formed The Charity Foundation, giving millions of dollars to worthy causes such as Food Banks and Children’s Hospitals.
