Pamela Marie Majerus, 56, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away January 2, 2024, at home at Elmwood. Pam was born February 8, 1967, to Mary and Lester Majerus. After the passing of Lester, Mary married James B. McDermott on November 23, 1973, who with open arms joined Mary in providing Pam with love and care until their passing. Pam recently retired from Cedar Valley Services after 36 years of working. She loved Minnie Mouse and her fuzzy socks with cat paw prints. She also enjoyed Reese’s Peanut Butter cups and Mountain Dew for special treats. Pam had an eclectic taste in music and loved to sing with her housemates.
Survivors include: three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patty and Charles Drexler, Plano, TX; Carole and Andrew Swanson, Mesa, AZ; Mary Kay and Scott Krebsbach, Colorado Springs, CO; brother and sister-in-law, David and Lynda Majerus, Austin; brother-in-law, Pat Hays; four step brothers and sisters-in-law, James McDermott Jr., Austin; John and Lori McDermott, Austin; Tim and Karen McDermott, Clearwater, FL; Patrick and Annette McDermott, Newark, DE; step-sister and brother-in-law, Erin and Patrick Donahoe, Chatfield, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary McDermott, April 10, 2001; her father Lester Majerus, June 29, 1967; stepfather, James McDermott, December 3, 1997; sister, Diane Hays, April 13, 1999; niece, Debra Hays, July 25, 1986; and nephew, Dennis McDermott, July 4, 2010.
A memorial service for Pam will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel, Austin. The visitation will take place from 11:00-11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Austin. Pam’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the Elmwood staff for the never-ending love and care they gave Pam through the years. Their care ensured that Pam’s last days at home were peaceful and comfortable until her passing. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
