Benjamin Lynn Johnson, age 40, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at his home in Austin. Ben was born on June 15, 1983, in Austin, Minnesota, to Lynn and Deborah (Huff) Johnson. He graduated from Austin High School in 2002. Following graduation, he attended Riverland Community College and Rochester Community Technical College. Ben worked for Hormel as a forklift driver, and at Aramark. It was during these times he met so many people and made many new friends. Most recently Ben was working for Austin Public Schools as a custodian. Ben was an avid disc golfer and loved watching sports, especially football. He was a movie buff who loved to go back and forth with his mom naming actors and titles of movies. Ben also enjoyed listening to 70’s and 80’s music and being with his dogs, Blue and Zoe. He had the best sense of humor; he was very witty and always had everyone laughing. Ben was very good at keeping in contact with all the friends he made over the years going back to childhood. If you were Ben’s friend, you were friends for life. He loved his family, girlfriend, and friends so much; Ben was such a kind man and a very good brother. He was very close to his sister, Emily; he loved to tease her and always made sure she was included in activities when they were growing up. Ben will be missed and loved by everyone.
Ben is survived by his parents, Lynn and Deb Johnson; sister, Emily Johnson; girlfriend, Megan Erie; aunts, Barb (Jack) Padgett, Janet (Steve) Dold, Kris Johnson, and Nola (Sandy) Johnson; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roger and Ione Huff; and paternal grandparents, Ingmund and Kemma Johnson.
