Century tops Austin

Austin's short game has come under scrutiny after the Packers' 367-376 loss at Rochester Century Tuesday.
The Packers evened out a 1-1 with an inconsistent showing around the greens, letting the host Panthers escape with the win. Kasie Wells shot an 82 to lead Century as medalist. Teammate Marisa Navaro was meet runner-up with an 87.
"Unlike last year where we struggled putting, this year we are struggling chipping and making good contact with the ball," said AHS coach Mark Anderson. "We could still manage to lower our putts per round, but that will happen if we chip the ball closer to the hole."
Austin was led again by Andrea Petersen's round of 91, followed closely by Noelle Wiebelhaus' 92.
"Most of our girls have been on the varsity for four to five years and know what it is going to take to make a run at the conference championship," Anderson said. "We look forward to that challenge, but it is going to be tougher this year than it ever has."
