Austin freshman Ailani Thiravong earned her first ever trip to the state golf meet when she took fifth at the Section 1AAA meet in Cannon Falls Thursday.

Thiravong shot an 89 on Thursday for a two-day total of 167 to take fifth place overall.

The Packers finished sixth as a team.
