Sieglinde (Linda) Noske, 94

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Sieglinde Noske, on June 7th, 2024, at the age of 94. Linda was born November 29th, 1929, in Munich, Germany to Franz Weimann and Kreszentia (Durr) Weimann. Linda had a very happy childhood, spending a lot of time with her Oma and Opa, at their butcher shop. She enjoyed traveling, hiking in the mountains, playing piano, and skiing. When the war came to Munich, Linda’s family was forced to evacuate to the countryside. She had several aunts and uncles that were killed in the concentration camps and taken as prisoners of war. When the war ended, she met an Army soldier by the name of John J Noske Jr. They became infatuated and he signed up for another two-year tour in the Air Force to court and marry Linda. When John was discharged from the Air Force, Linda came to America to pursue the life of an American housewife in 1949. It wasn’t always easy as she was still considered an enemy to America. She worked very hard to pass her citizenship test and became a citizen in 1952, while raising their children on a farm in rural Adams, MN.  We will miss her stories about life in Germany, about World War II and the leaders of the time.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, John, and her son Gregory Noske, Ingleside, Texas. One brother, Franz, and her parents.

Surviving her is Barbara Noske (John), of Green Valley, Arizona. Monica Angel (Dennis) of San Jose, California. John Noske (Cindi) of Gray Court, South Carolina. And Anita Gunsallus (Kendall), with whom she lived in Rochester, Minnesota. Also, with many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and a great grandson.
