Jannette Katherine Belden, age 89, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Our House Memory Care in Austin surrounded by family. She was born on October 16, 1934, in Austin to parents, Warren and Mary (Gorman) Emery. Jannette attended and graduated from St. Augustine Catholic School in 1952. On July 16, 1953, she married Harold Belden at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. Their marriage was blessed with 7 children. Jannette had an in-home daycare for over 45 years; she was able to care for multiple generations of children from different families in our community. Jannette and Harold were members of the Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin and the American Legion. She enjoyed volunteering at Sacred Heart Care Center until 2020. She loved to fill her free time playing BINGO, going to the casino, playing pranks on her children and grandchildren and going camping and fishing. Above all Jannette cherished her time with her family; she even made sure they all had their own birthday parties every year.
Jannette is survived by her children, Diane Otterson of Texas, Martin Belden of Austin, Barbara (Brian) Prentis of Austin, Anthony (Lisa) Belden of Austin, Matthew Belden of Austin; daughter-in-law, Kim Belden of Austin; 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Mary Emery; husband, Harold Belden; sons, Harold Jr Belden and Allen Belden; grandson, Jeramiah Belden; granddaughter, Kendra Belden; great-grandson, Tucker; and sisters, Mary Bendtsen and Margaret Emery.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of life will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, at The Eagles Club in Austin.
