Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Duplicate Bridge is played twice weekly at the Mower County Senior Center in Austin. The start time is 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The Senior Center is open from 8-4 p.m. Monday through Friday year around, except for inclement weather or holidays. The general rule is if the public schools are closed for any reason, so is the Senior Center.

On Tuesday, we played 11 teams and happily welcomed a new face.

Players travel from Mason City and  Northwood, Iowa, Rose Creek, Albert Lea, and Austin.  Our games presently are unsanctioned, which means that high scores or recognition is not reported to National Organizations; however, we do have players who have earned many, many  points they have earned by playing in registered tournament games; some of which are found as close to our area as Rochester. This game is popular all over the world. It is interesting to leaf through the ACBL magazine which reports the Bridge World news.

We continue to welcome new players. We would like to see the younger generation showing an interest in the game, on the basis of the aging population’s growing support and the consensus of people from all over the world.
