Alumni update: Austin grads are chipping in with Riverland soccer team, Hagen having a career year with Maverick football team

The Riverland Community College soccer team has gotten some local help as the Blue Devils are off to a 4-2-2 overall start to the season.
The Blue Devils have 13 total Austin grads on the team. Kalab Tadesse has two goals and an assist on the season, Nick Asmus has two goals and two assists and Poe Reh has two assists.
Austin grad Andres Garcia has played in two games this season for St. Cloud State University (5-2 overall) and he has attempted two shots on goal. Garcia’s younger brother Aidan Garcia is in his second year with Minnesota United FC2, an Academy team that is geared towards getting players into the MSL. In 18 games, Martinez has two goals and one assist.
Austin grad Henry Tolbert has played in three games this season for Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City. MACU, which is an NAIA school, is 6-1-3 overall on the season.
FOOTBALL
Blooming Prairie grad Gabe Hagen had a career day with the Minnesota State University in Mankato football team as he hauled in six passes for 76 yards and a score in a 33-20 win over Concordia-St. Paul on Sept. 28.
Hagen, who is in his fourth year on the field, now has 20 catches for 223 yards and two TDs this season and both of those numbers are the best he’s ever done in a season for the Mavericks.
The Mavericks (5-0 overall) are ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division II.
Austin grad Tommy Fritz ran for 14 yards on three carries for Dordt College (3-0 overall), which beat Concordia, Nebraska 33-22 on Sept. 28.
Austin grad Manny Guy had two catches for 13 yards for the University of Minnesota-Morris (1-2 overall) in a 28-7 loss to Carleton on Sept. 21.
