Patricia M. Berg, 81

Patricia M. Berg, age 81, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society – Comforcare in Austin. Patricia Marie Macal was born on September 13, 1943, in Austin, Minnesota, to Walter and Mary (Raymond) Macal. Pat attended country school and graduated from Rose Creek High School. On December 1, 1962, Patricia was united in marriage to Herbert James Berg in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with five children. Pat and Herb lived in Nebraska for one year and later made their home north of Austin on the family farm. Pat was employed at Kids Cove at the YMCA for 30 years. She loved putting puzzles together, listening to Elvis, and hoping to win big on pull tabs with her grandchildren. Pat had a very special relationship with her son, Todd. She was a dedicated caretaker for him, providing him with unconditional love and support. The two loved going out to eat with one another and affectionately called each another “hun” and bun.” Pat will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Pat is survived by her children, Barry (Sherri) Berg of Remer, Minnesota, Daniel Berg of Austin, Lisa (Mark) Stephan of Altura, Minnesota, and Brandi Halsey of Faribault; grandchildren, Casey (Tony), Skylar, Samuel, Cole, Blake, and Brandon; great-grandchildren, River and Wyatt; and siblings, Deb (Bob) Kos, and Gary (Deb) Macal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; son, Todd; parents, Walter and Mary; and brother, Ronald.

The memorial gathering for Pat will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. A private interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.
