Austin High School, Austin Online, and the Austin Area Learning Center have announced their second year of participation in the Direct Admissions Minnesota program.
This initiative is designed to encourage high school seniors who are on track to graduate to see themselves as “college ready” and “college material.”
The Direct Admissions program aims to reduce the stress and uncertainty often associated with the college application process. By pro-actively informing students of the 2- and 4-year community, technical, tribal, public, and private Minnesota colleges and universities that are ready to admit them, the program opens doors to higher education for all qualifying seniors. Each student will receive a personalized letter detailing the colleges they meet the academic criteria for, along with clear steps to help them select and apply to their institution of choice.
To kick off this year’s participation, all Austin High School seniors on track to graduate are invited to a letter opening assembly at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in Knowlton Auditorium. Students will learn more about the Direct Admissions program and the next steps they can take toward a college.
