Tammy L. Quam, 50

Tammy Lynn Quam, age 50, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Saint Marys Campus. Tammy was born April 18, 1974, to Larry and Judith (Goodmanson) Quam in Austin, Minnesota, where she spent her entire life, creating a home filled with love and warmth. She graduated from Austin High School in 1993 and went on to attend RCTC.

It was in high school where Tammy met the love of her life, Geoff Pepper. Their story began when Tammy, with a little help from her friends, found her way to Geoff’s doorstep, sparking a 30-year journey of love, laughter, and family. Together, they raised two incredible sons, Alec and Kyler, who were Tammy’s pride and joy. She poured her heart into being a stay-at-home mom, creating a nurturing and supportive home, always there to listen and care for her family. Her deep love for her children was only rivaled by the special connection she shared with her granddaughter, Charlotte, who was the light of her life.

Tammy was a pillar of love and kindness in her family, always ensuring everyone felt seen and supported. She cherished family traditions, and her home was often filled with the warmth of gatherings and the joy of being together. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate family, as she opened her heart and home to friends and neighbors, sharing her love of plants, especially the beloved hostas passed down from her grandmother, Elva.

Tammy also shared a special bond with her dog, Fargo, who was always by her side. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for Fargo and her other pets over the years, and they brought her immense joy and comfort.

A lifelong resident of Austin and a devoted member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Tammy’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy in simple pleasures-her collection of Coca-Cola memorabilia, tending to her flowers, and her love for animals, particularly Fargo, who was part of the family. Even though hockey wasn’t her first passion, her love for her family made her an unwavering supporter of her boys on and off the ice.

Tammy’s kindhearted spirit, her selflessness, and her unwavering love for her family will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her. She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Geoff Pepper; her father, Larry Quam; her sons, Alec (Gabby Larson) Pepper and Kyler Pepper; her precious granddaughter, Charlotte Pepper; her brother, Greg Quam; her parents-in-law, Gayle and Howard Oldenkamp; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved mother, Judy Quam; her uncles, Curt Goodmanson and Dave Quam; and her father-in-law, Gary Pepper.

A celebration of Tammy’s life was held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Worlein-Hoff Funeral Home in Austin. Visitation took place one hour prior to the service.
