Austin football team will forfeit its playoff game

Citing a lack of healthy and eligible players, the Austin football team will forfeit its scheduled Section 1AAAA Tournament opener.
The No. 5 seeded Packers were going to play at No. 4 Winona at 7 p.m. Tuesday, but instead the Winhawks will advance and play at No. 1 Byron at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Austin was missing most of its starters in its regular season finale at Mankato East last week, which it lost 57-0. The team used mostly JV players in that game
With the forfeit, Packers finish with a record of 0-9 overall and the team has now lost 16 contests in a row.
