A pair of area runners earned their first trips to state berths at the Section 1A cross country meet in Rochester Thursday.

Pacelli eighth grader Zemecha McManus took 10th place with a time of 17:16.9 to get to state and Blooming Prairie Gloria Hernandez took 11th with a time of 20:32.2 to advance to state.
