Select Hy-Vee Stores will host special memorials and events honoring the anniversary

In 1999, the Belton Hy-Vee in Missouri proudly hosted a breakfast on Veterans Day to honor local active-duty military and veterans. This time-honored tradition continues as Hy-Vee celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Veterans Day Breakfast.

This year’s breakfast will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, along with special events across its eight-state region. Breakfast will be served between 6-10 a.m.

A free buffet-style breakfast will be offered to all veterans and active-duty military members from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Hy-Vee stores.

Additionally, veterans and active-duty military will receive 15% off their grocery purchases on Monday, Nov. 11 when they shop at Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market and Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh locations.

“Time and again, I hear from our employees that the annual Veterans Day Breakfasts is one of their favorite events they participate in at our Hy-Vee stores, and I agree,” said  Jeremy Gosch, Hy-Vee’s chairman and CEO.  “We are honored to be able to serve those who have served our nation, and show our gratitude to each of them for their service.”

Additionally, Hy-Vee is holding its annual Hy-Vee Homefront Round Up, where the company teams up with customers to raise money to support veterans, active-duty military members and their families. The fundraiser goes through Nov. 17 at all Hy-Vee stores and Dollar Fresh Market stores across its eight-state region. Hy-Vee will match all customer donations up to $100,000, with all proceeds benefiting Hope for the Warriors, Operation First Response, American Red Cross and the Puppy Jake Foundation.
