Dianne R. Brandt, 81

Dianne Rose Brandt, age 81, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin. Dianne was born July 31, 1943, in Austin, Minnesota, to Martin and Vivian (Struck) Kuntz. She attended St. John’s School through the 8th grade and in 1961, graduated from Austin High School. Dianne was united in marriage to Charles Brandt on June 16, 1962, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin. Their union was blessed with two children, Debra and Steven. Dianne worked alongside her husband, Chuck at Woolworth Company and in their own Ben Franklin store, which they owned in Austin from the late 1960s until 1985. She was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin and a former Lioness. Dianne enjoyed reading, counted cross stitch, golfing, and trips to the casino. She also loved playing bingo and bridge. Dianne will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Debra (Mark) Brekke of Austin, Minnesota and Steven (Jennifer) Brandt of Willard, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jeffery (Kelli) Jax, Robert (Gina) Jax, Heather (Joshua) Vogt, Daniel Jax, Emily Brekke, and Jada Brandt; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Karen (Duane) Sibbers of Cadott, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Vivian Kuntz; husband, Charles Brandt; and one brother, Raymond Kuntz.

A memorial service for Dianne will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin. The visitation will take place one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery, Austin. Memorials are preferred to the Hormel Institute or the St. John’s Lutheran Church Radio Broadcast. Worlein-Hoff Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
