Thanksgiving has come and gone and we hope you had a great day of being with family and friends, and enjoying some great food.

However, the coming days between now and Christmas are going to be some of the busiest days of the year, filled with Christmas events, parties and plenty of running. At times it could seem like we’re in a rush to get somewhere just so we can be in a rush to get somewhere else.

And we get it. There are going to be a variety of events — both private and public — that are going to pull you in different directions, sometimes at the same time.

We want those opportunities to create memories you can look back on for years with fondness. But we also want to urge you to take opportunities to take a break and breathe. Sit back and take some time to yourself, because while these days can be filled with joy, hope and fellowship they are also notable for depression and anxiety.

One of the best Christmas gifts all year can be to yourself — piece of mind. We want you to spend time with those you love and care for, but we — and those that love you in return — also want what’s best for you and sometimes that might just be sitting down with a warm drink by yourself.

Read a book, listen to music or just sit in the quiet while enjoying the world’s ambiance surrounding you.

We want everything to be perfect during the holidays, but when our mental health is tested the reality of perfection slips away to  the clouds.

We wish the very best for you this holiday season and part of that wish is that you are in the best state of mind you can be.

So warm up some apple cider, get a good book and find a place of quiet on those days that you can. There will be plenty of memories waiting for you and those memories are best enjoyed when you are in the right frame of mind.
