The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting public meetings at four locations around the state this December to seek public input that will help guide the vision for the updated Minnesota State Rail Plan. Minnesotans can also provide feedback online.
The Minnesota State Rail Plan addresses a variety of topics important to the future of rail, including economic development, safety improvements and future rail system development and investment.
Those wishing to learn more about the Minnesota State Rail Plan and provide input to help guide the new Vision and Action Plan are encouraged to attend one of these upcoming meetings:
• Duluth: Lake Superior Railroad Museum, 506 W Michigan St., Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 4–6 p.m.
• Rochester: Rochester Public Library, 101 2nd St. SE, Thursday, Dec. 5 from 4–6 p.m.
• Moorhead: Moorhead Public Library, 118 5th St. S., Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 4–6 p.m.
• Twin Cities Metro Area: Union Depot, 214 4th St. E. in St. Paul, Thursday, Dec. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon
The meetings are informal, and attendees may arrive any time. Informational displays and handouts will be available, and MnDOT and State Rail Plan representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
Anyone can also provide feedback online through our Minnesota State Rail Plan project website, here you can also sign up for email updates and learn more about the project.
