Austin Area Foundation announces community funded grants to a record 22 local nonprofit organizations

The Austin Area Foundation has awarded $34,676 in grants from its Austin Legacy Endowment Fund to 22 locally based nonprofit organizations.
The grant awards will support a wide variety of programs, including the arts, education, basic needs, community events, and several more.
“Thanks to our generous donors, The Austin Area Foundation is proud to support our community through annual grant distributions, empowering local organizations to create lasting impact, foster innovation, and address the most pressing needs of our vibrant community,” said Taggert Medgaarden, AAF Board Chair.
Grants were awarded to Austin Area Arts, Austin Area Chamber of Commerce, Austin Aspires, Austin Community Band, Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau, Austin Enhancement Group and Austin Symphony Orchestra.
Additional support will be provided to Edition II, Inc., Hormel Historic Home, Inc., Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota-Austin office, LIFE Mower County, Mower County Historical Society, Mower County Seniors, Recovery Is Happening, Salvation Army / Feed a Family, Southern Minnesota Women’s Center / Rachel’s Hope, Summerset Theatre, The Next Chapter, Inc., The Read Seed, Inc., The Hormel Institute UMN and Zonta Club of Austin.
“It is wonderful and gratifying to see how the community can fund projects and initiatives locally – through AAF – to benefit so many people right here in Mower County,” said Dr. Fred Bogott, chair of the AAF Distribution Committee.
