The Hayfield/Schaeffer Academy girls basketball team fell a little short as it lost 60-59 to Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in Janesville Friday.

The Vikings (2-3 overall) trailed 10-1 early, but they built up a 14-point second half lead before JWP stormed back.

“We again held a late lead against a good team but couldn’t finish them off,” HSA head coach Kasey Krekling said. “We have to find a way to execute down the stretch to win these tight games. I’m sure it will come as the chemistry is building between the players that have only been together now for four weeks.”
