Mary Ann Heimer, 87

Mary Ann Heimer, 87, died on Monday, December 16, 2024 at SpringBrook Village in La Crescent, MN, from dementia. She was born on March 4, 1937 in Austin, MN. She married Francis Heimer, also of Austin, on January 12, 1957, and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. They shared their Catholic faith in their life journey and passed it on to their children.

Mary Ann was happiest being with family at our many gatherings together. Prayer, including her rosary, was part of her everyday routine. She loved listening to music and always had a radio on with her  favorite tunes throughout the day. Mary Ann loved the beauty of flowers, reading, daily walks in nature, watching the birds at her feeders, and going to rummage sales with her sister Arlene. She  was a great lover of cats and dogs. Mary Ann was very loved, and her smile will be missed by all.

Mary Ann is survived by her children Karen (Hal) Delaney, Eau Claire, WI; Mike Heimer, West Salem, WI; Audry Heimer, Caledonia, MN; Donna (Fred) Lupien, Hartford, SD; Annette (Ron) Jewell, Ruther Glen, VA; John (Shawn) Heimer, Caledonia, MN; Theresa (Roger) Thompson, Wesley Chapel, FL; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; sister Arlene Heimer and sister-in-law Emma Heimer, both of Austin, MN; and sister-in-law Judy Klapperick, Mesa, AZ. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Francis, parents Urban and Alyce Klapperick, brothers Richard and Tony Klapperick, and grandson Zachary.

We would like to thank all the staff at SpringBrook Village for the great loving care they provided our mom for the past five years. Thank you also to Moments Hospice Team. Memorials may be sent in Mary Ann’s name to St. Peter’s Catholic School, Hokah, MN, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Hokah, MN at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Rev. John L. Evans, II will officiate. Burial will be in the Crucifixion Catholic Cemetery, La Crescent. Friends may call at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral & Cremation Services of La Crescent on Wednesday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 PM, and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
